We believe that training which focuses purely on teaching health and social care professionals the 'how to's' of death and dying misses a vital piece of the puzzle - teaching professionals to be aware of and manage their own relationship with death and dying. The CDCD approach helps our clients cultivate self-awareness of their own attitudes and feelings regarding the end-of-life, identify their own barriers to having conversations about death and dying with those they support, and create actionable steps towards improving their death competency. This in turn means that our training can have lasting benefits for the individuals and organisations who work with us. Our ethos is that of human-ness - respecting that you are experts of your own experience and know best what will work for you, your colleagues, and in turn those you care for.
